Hi! I’m Jessie. I like to make things with people.
That mostly looks like acting, writing, and producing (though I have also been known to sing a mean rendition of I Hope You Dance).
I studied in a tightly-knit ensemble in Chicago, where I trained in Shakespeare, the Patsy Rodenburg method, movement, and acting in the legacy of Michael Howard. The brutal winters brought me west to Los Angeles, where I have since found my artistic home at BGB Studios.
My work has taken me to film festivals, off-Broadway, international theater expos, Zoom rooms, cornfields, and strangers' apartments. My first short as writer and producer, Housecats, recently premiered at the Oscar-qualifying Indy Shorts festival, and might just be playing somewhere near you soon.
I don’t think there’s anything more interesting than figuring out how something works, especially if that thing is a human being.
